CMIT Programs in the Great Lakes Area
Chi Alpha Campus Ministries
Chi Alpha is a national campus ministry sponsored by the Assemblies of God. We are a Spirit-empowered, diverse community of believers on university campuses, declaring in word and lifestyle our faith in Jesus Christ, equipped to fulfill our purpose in God's global plan. We reconcile students to Christ, equipping them through spirit-filled communities of prayer, worship, fellowship, discipleship and mission to transform the university, the marketplace and the world. Our core values are Community, Creativity, Diversity, Excellence, Integrity, and Servant-Leadership.
What is a CMIT?
CMIT stands for Campus Missionary in Training. A CMIT is an individual who feels a call to vocational ministry of some kind or campus missions and commits a year or more to an internship experience in order to receive training and equipping to test and approve this call. Since an internship is full time commitment, it requires participants to raise missionary support.
An internship will equip a CMIT in five areas:
Applications are due by April 1st
Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, MI
Want to reach university students from diverse backgrounds? Eastern Michigan University's CMIT program is tailored to give you an experience in understanding and reaching the diversity represented on our campuses today. Located by Detroit, in the southeast corner of Michigan, this 1-year internship runs from January to December, provides training in theology and ministry, and will give you great opportunity for personal development and empowerment as you pursue God's call on your life.
Sarah Jackson Garry Miller
Wright State University, Dayton, OH
The Ohio XA internship offers a variety of missional experiences across three distinct college settings - a public university (Wright State), a private univeristy (U of Dayton), and a community college (Sinclair CC). Each intern will be exposed to an established ministry, an up and coming ministry, and a ministry on a strictly commuter campus. Each school provides it's own challenges and opportunities for learning that will benefit the intern with a wide scope of skills and competencies, along side character and theological growth.
Indiana Hub Model CMIT
The Indiana CMIT program is a state wide collaboration which specializes in developing pioneers. Interns will receive hands on experience in all areas of campus missions, including discipleship, strategic thinking, and theological development. Our staff is committed to seeing you develop into the unique leader God has gifted you to be. Currently our program begins in mid December and runs a full twelve months.
